Amanda Waas has written for various national publications about ridiculous topics such as how to keep your lunch safe from a lunchroom bandit and what it feels like to have a paparazzo follow you around for an afternoon (short answer: weird). She has interviewed Sheryl Crow, the Barenaked Ladies, and that good-looking lead singer from Incubus. Her writing has appeared in Made Man, The Kitchn, HiConsumption, Parade, Time Out New York, AOL's Shelterpop, McSweeney's Internet Tendency, Every Day With Rachael Ray, and various others.
In addition to her writing escapades, Amanda has worked in marketing in the media industry for nearly 10 years. She currently works at National Geographic, strategizing and building large, creative programs for Tech, Travel, and Adventure brands. Are you following @natgeo on Instagram? You should.
In 2011, she launched You're Welcome, a site dedicated to providing gift suggestions for all of life's awkward occasions to legions of indifferent shoppers who just want to get out of the store and into a dark room with a bottle of vodka. You're Welcome has been featured in Parade, Elle Decor, Glamour, Wantist, and Daily Worth and was named an Up-and-Coming Blog at the Alt Design Summit in 2012.
